Antarctic krill fishing vessel is a professional ocean going fishing vessel integrating many functions, such as navigation, exploration and fishing, investigation of fishery resources, krill fishing and processing, frozen storage and transportation. The fishing is mainly conducted by single vessel middle-level trawling, with the length of fishing gear generally exceeding 100m, the operating water depth generally being 200m, and the trawling speed being 2-3 knots. It is a typical large-scale, automatic, high-efficiency and energy-saving fishing vessel with good safety and environmental protection performance.
Generally, it is a continuous pumping trawl, with the processing capacity of frozen shrimp, shrimp meat, shrimp powder and shrimp oil on board. Due to the fragile ecological environment in the Antarctic sea area, bound by the International Convention for the prevention of pollution and the supervision of the Antarctic Biological Resources Conservation Committee, the requirements for its environmental protection and emission measures are higher than those of other ocean going fishing vessels.
